Like Mind Like Body podcast

Like Mind, Like Body

by Curable

This podcast interviews experts in neuroscience, pain science, psychology, and the mind-body connection with a focus on chronic pain. It explores the latest research on the mind-body link.

Why it’s great:

I’m the kind of person that needs facts, science, and concrete evidence before I can be convinced of pretty much anything (probably one of the characteristics that made me prone to TMS in the first place), which is why this is still my favorite podcast. In my opinion this podcast is the best if you are still needing to be convinced the TMS and Mind Body Syndrome is a real. Most of the guests on this show are the leading researchers and minds in this field, and as most of them are doctors and practitioners, most of it is based on concrete evidence, with great explanations as to why most people’s chronic pain isn’t due to a structural or physical issue. Additionally, the host Laura Seago, instills a sense of calm with the way she speaks which really helped put my nervous system more at ease when listening.

Who it’s for:

Beginners to the actual concept of what Tension Myositis Syndrome and who need to be convinced by facts/data/science that their chronic pain is caused from their brain, not their body.

Tell Me About Your Pain podcast

Tell Me About Your Pain

by Curable

Hosted by Alan Gordon and Alon Ziv, this is probably my go-to podcast if I’m ever starting to feel my chronic pain symptoms creeping back up and want to squash it quickly. This podcast features real-life stories of people overcoming chronic pain using mind-body approaches. It focuses on TMS-related concepts and offers expert interviews to explain how emotional factors play a role in physical pain.

Why it’s great:

Alan Gordon is one of, if not THE leading expert in this space. He is one of the individuals I attribute my healing to, even though we have never actually met or spoke to one another. The way he delivers his evidence based information on mind body pain with his calm, and confidence reassurance really helped me to deeply internalize the thought that I was not permanently broken and there truly was a way out of chronic pain.

Who it’s for:

Those looking to hear success stories and practical, actionable ways to actually start treating their own pain.

The Cure for Chronic Pain with Nicole Sachs, LCSW podcast

The Cure For Chronic Pain

with Nicole Sachs, LCSW

Nicole Sachs, mentored by the great Dr. John Sarno himself, explores the emotional causes of chronic pain and teaches listeners how to heal through her “JournalSpeak” method. She shares her expertise on TMS, her own healing journey, and features many expert guests, success stories, and even does “live healing sessions” with chronic pain sufferers still on their journey to becoming pain free.

Why it’s great:

This podcast really focuses on the emotional suppression’s role in chronic pain. Nicole’s JournalSpeak method is extremely effective for unearthing and releasing repressed emotions that you may not even know are lying under the surface. Through her journaling methods I actually discovered quite a few feelings that I never knew were there, which was crucial to my healing and to grow my own emotional awareness.

Who it’s for:

Really anyone with chronic pain could benefit from this podcast, but especially those who struggle finding and acknowledging their true emotions.

The Mind And Fitness Podcast

The Mind And Fitness Podcast

with Eddy Lindenstein

Eddy, the host, has firsthand experience in overcoming chronic pain using the mind-body approach. This podcast has expert interviews, success stories from others who have cured their chronic pain, and his own personal experiences with TMS. What makes this podcast unique is that Eddy is a fitness enthusiast and views and experiences TMS through a different lens as a high-performance athlete. If you have read my story, you will know that I was, and still am a fitness enthusiast, and this podcast was crucial to me getting the courage to get back into the gym without the fear of further “injuring” myself.

Why it’s great:

Anyone with chronic pain knows how much fear surrounds any sort of physical activity. Getting back to physical activity is one of the biggest hurdles for most people, and Eddy’s experience going from chronic pain to getting back into powerlifting really helps to getting over the fear of resuming exercise.

Who it’s for:

This is a particularly great podcast for those who lead highly active lifestyles prior to their chronic pain. But really, anyone who has fear related to any sort of physical activity could benefit from it.
